Can I tell you how excited I am that I found an elbow patch blazer?!?!
After years of searching for an elbow patch blazer, I finally found a great one at Macy’s from the Tommy Hilfiger brand. I paired it with these Walmart Time and Tru pants, some of my favorite nude heels, and a pair of Warby Parker frames. Let’s get into the details…
Tommy Hilfiger Controversy
I know there’s a lot of controversy surrounding Tommy Hilfiger and his racially charged remarks regarding his not wanting to be aligned with hip-hop. I’ve linked the article so that you can read firsthand what allegedly happened and choose to interpret and decide whether to support the brand with your own coins. Based on the facts presented in the article above and others, I feel comfortable spending money with Tommy Hilfiger, although I haven’t purchased a lot of Hilfiger pieces. I like the quality, fit, and price point of their pieces, and I would equate the cut to Calvin Klein pieces, which I love.
TH Elbow Patch Blazer
When I saw this blazer, I knew I had to try it on. I always wanted an elbow patch blazer but never found one in a color scheme I liked. There was also the issue of where the patches hit my arms. For some reason, it never seemed to be on my elbows. Usually it was a little too high, closer to my triceps. This blazer checked all the boxes and fits well with the color scheme of my closet.
Aside from the elbow patches actually being on the elbows, the blazer fits nicely across the back and chest. It leaves just enough room in the waist without adding too much extra width to your appearance. It works well with various shades of navy and brown, as you can see here with these pants and top.
Time & Tru Pants
Would you believe me if I told you these pants were from Walmart? Well, they are, and the brand is Time & Tru. I love the color of these; it’s almost a camel/cognac brown that works well with my skin tone. Okay, maybe somewhere between camel and cognac.
They were a little tight with some COVID weight I put on, but they’re comfortable with a little bit of stretch. I normally don’t like pants that end at my ankles, but I think these work well with a good pair of nude shoes. They help by not breaking up the length of my legs and keeping my look long and lean.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find them online, but you should check inside Walmart. I found them in the store on a whim for $13 and lemme tell you, it was the best $13 I ever spent…. Behind a pint of Cold Stone ice cream. 🙂 I will say that they are a bit thin, though. Therefore, they won’t keep you warm in the winter and are better suited for mild weather.
Banana Republic Top
Okay, so Banana Republic, the original and factory stores, sell these neutral-colored tops and bodysuits in their “True Hues” line. I have TONS of tops and bodysuits in various shades from this line and even ended up selling some on Mercari.
While you may not find a shade that matches your skin exactly, they have a decent variety where you can find something similar. I’m most content with their brown shades. They have a few white, blush, and Sienna shades that I honestly don’t find flattering against my skin, but if you’re looking for those, they’ve got them!
Warby Parker Glasses
I have a confession… Warby Parker glasses have become my favorites. Honestly, designer glasses are cool, but I have several Warby Parkers for the price of one pair of them. They’re not sponsoring me. (Although, hello! I’m here, willing, and LOVE your glasses if you want to sponsor me.) I genuinely find them comfortable, affordable, and, most importantly, stylish.
I’ve received more compliments on my Warby Parker frames than any other frames I’ve worn, and I’ve been wearing glasses for over ten years now. The ones I have on here are a beautiful, deep shade of blue with speckles of black throughout. These were the first pair I bought way back in 2019, and I haven’t looked back.
