Hey hey! It’s another What to Wear Wednesday and I’m not going to lie, I’m not as excited as I thought I’d be by this outfit because of these black pants with beige pinstripes. I usually don’t like pants that cut above the ankle so that could be making me a bit biased. Maybe I just haven’t found the right ones yet, but so far it’s not my cup of tea. Anyway, let’s get into today’s outfit.
Bodysuit
The top is the same bodysuit from last week. I wanted to have a few weeks where I showed how the same piece can be worn in multiple outfits. Hopefully, I succeeded! This is my favorite work-appropriate bodysuit because it mirrors the look of a button-down, but is softer and more flexible than a traditional button-down. It’s also nice to not have to worry about plumber’s crack…
Pants
These black pants with beige pinstripes (classified as tan on the site) are by Leith from Nordstrom and I can’t put my finger on what I don’t like exactly. It could be the outfit overall, the way the kick flare bottoms cut above the ankle (see my mention of that above), or the way the pinstripes look on camera. Because I have larger hips and thighs, I usually like a flare or bootcut bottom to balance me out but I think the length of these makes it awkward to the eye. What do you think?
I prefer my tops be tucked in, but these pants might look better with a different top, untucked. Stay tuned and I’ll see if I can style them differently in the future with a better outcome.
Blazer
I bought this blazer knowing that it was a size too big but it was on sale and I had a tan blazer on my list for the longest time. Even though it doesn’t look good with this outfit, I promise it’s cute and warm! My favorite aspect of this blazer aside from the color is the long, classic cut. The good thing about a long blazer is it could be worn on the weekends with a shorter dress or miniskirt (if your butt can fit those things).
It feels like a wool-blend so it’s heavier and warmer than your typical office blazer. I’m not sure you’d want to wear it in the office all day, home, remote, or actually in-office, but it works in a pinch if you need to run an errand or get a little chilly during the day. If you live in a warmer climate, it might even work as a jacket for you on mild days.
